UNDOCUMENTED MOTHERS FROM MESA HOLD AN ALL DAY VIGIL AT REP. SALMON’S OFFICE ASKING HIM TO SUPPORT A JUST IMMIGRATION REFORM BILL

WHAT: They will start a day long, or perhaps week long vigil outside of his office in Gilbert. They will remain there until Rep. Salmon meets with affected families and individuals.

After a tough road in the Senate, the Immigration Reform bill (SB-744) has been able to move forward with 68 votes and support from 15 Republican Senator. It is now in the hands of the House of Representatives to make sure that the number one priority for the Latino community, all through the country, becomes a reality. Because of that, undocumented mothers from Mesa will be holding a vigil tomorrow outside of Representative Matt Salmon’s office to ask him for his full support for immigrant families.

Representative Salmon has the responsibility to protect the same families who have been torn apart by Arizona’s anti-immigrant laws. He has the choice of showing the Arizona community that his party is not lead by the extreme tactics of individuals like Sheriff Joe Arpaio, but instead, lead by common sense Republicans who have learned a lesson from the failure of Mitt Romney and his “self-deportation” rhetoric.
